Thirty-five feedlot lambs (without defined breed, aged between 5 and 7 months, with average live weight of 17.7±3.7 kg) were used in a completely randomized design to evaluate the effect of diets containing different genotypes of sorghum on morphometric measurements and qualitative characteristics of carcass and yields of primal cuts. The animals stayed in individual indoor pens for 42 days and slaughtered at an average weight of 26.24 kg. No significant differences were observed on morphometric measurements, hot (11.67 kg) and cold (11.39 kg) carcass weight, hot (44.46%) and cold (43.37%) carcass yields, biological yield and on cooling losses. The objective of this study was to evaluate the divergence of bromatological and fermentative characteristics of silages of 25 sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench) hybrids. The experimental design was completely randomized with 25 treatments and four replications. The mean values of pH differed with variation from 3.45 to 3.87 for hybrids 866005 and 870051, respectively, and the mean pH value was 3.66. Foram estudados os efeitos in vitro dos inibidores monensina e própolis sobre a fermentação ruminal de aminoácidos. Utilizou-se líquido ruminal de um novilho em pastejo, acrescentado de solução de tripticase, em três tratamentos (controle, monensina e própolis). Na 1ª fase do experimento, foram feitas transferências diárias de inóculos para novos tubos com os mesmos tratamentos até o 10º dia e, no 11º dia, iniciou a 2ª fase, efetuando-se as combinações dos tratamentos da 1ª fase (C, M, P), no total de nove, com transferência diária e incubação por mais nove dias. Este experimento visou estudar os efeitos in vitro dos ionóforos sobre a fermentação ruminal de aminoácidos. Utilizou-se líquido de rúmen de um novilho alimentado com dieta à base de capim-elefante, acrescentando solução de tripticase, em três tratamentos (controle-C, monensina-M e lasalocida-L). Foram feitas transferências diárias de inóculos para novos tubos e, no 11º dia, cada tratamento deu origem a três novos (C, M, L), totalizando nove combinações (2ª fase). The objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of whey fermented by Enterococus faecium in consortium with Veilonella parvula in vitro on ruminal microorganisms in different substrates, with or without monensin. The objective of this study was to evaluate the use of wheat bran as an additive in elephant-grass silage on intake and digestibility of the nutrients, ingestive behavior, and yield and chemical composition of milk. Eight goats with 45 days of lactation were distributed in a (4 × 4) Latin square design.The treatments consisted of corn silage (CS), elephant-grass silage without wheat bran (EGS), elephant-grass silage with 10% wheat bran (EGS+10%WB), and elephant-grass silage with 20% wheat bran (EGS+20% WB). Objetivou-se avaliar a inclusão de níveis crescentes de óleo de soja (0; 1,5; 3,0; 4,5; 6,0; e 7,5% da MS), extrato etanólico de própolis (0; 1,0; 2,0; 4,0; 8,0 e 12,0 mL/animal/dia, 50% p/v de própolis moída em solução alcoólica a 70% em água) e própolis bruta moída (0; 0,5; 1,0; 2,0; 4,0 e 6,0 g/animal/dia) na alimentação de cabras leiteiras. Objetivou-se com este estudo avaliar o resultado econômico da terminação de ovinos em confinamento, alimentados com silagens de diferentes cultivares de sorgo: 'BRS 810' e 'BRS Ponta Negra' (caráter forrageiro); 'BRS 610' (caráter duplo propósito); e 'BRS 655' e 'BRS 800' (caráter granífero). Utilizaram-se 35 cordeiros, sem padrão racial definido, com idade entre 5 e 7 meses e com peso vivo médio de 17,7±3,7kg. This study aimed to assess the fermentation profile, losses and chemical composition of the silages of five sorghum cultivars. A completely randomized design with five replicates was used. The experimental treatments were represented by five sorghum cultivars (Sorghum bicolor (L). Moench): 'BRS Ponta Negra' , 'BRS 610', 'BRS 655', 'BRS 800' and 'BRS 810'. There was variation (P<0.05) for the pH in the cultivars studied, with highest result of pH by 'BRS 610'. The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of sources of nitrogen on the intake and digestibility of nutrients and production and chemical composition of goat milk. ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of substituting soybean meal for urea in diets based on deferred buffelgrass on the performance of feedlot sheep. Thirty mixed-breed sheep with an average initial body weight of 17±1.5 kg were distributed in a completely randomized design in which the experimental treatments consisted of five diets with six replicates.
